About Zantchito
The “Zantchito-Skills for Jobs” Programme, embedded in the 11th European Development Fund (EDF), aims at creating an ecosystem of job creators, as opposed to job seekers. It will do this by addressing the Malawi economy’s need for skilled professionals and providing decent jobs and self-employment opportunities for young TEVET graduates, University graduates, and entrepreneurs, with special attention to women's needs.
Specific Objectives
- To improve the workforce qualifications and access of TEVET graduates to employment
- To promote entrepreneurial culture, sustainable enterprise creation and decent, formal jobs
Expected Results
TEVET skills development:
- Equitable, safe and gender based access to TEVET and retention is increased
- Quality and relevance of TEVET is enhanced
- Improved management and monitoring systems of the TEVET regulatory bodies and training institutions and increased dialogue with private sector.
Entrepreneurship development:
- The entrepreneurship ecosystem is strengthened i.e. Business Incubators, BDS Service providers, entrepreneurs.
- Access to start-up capital for entrepreneurs in enhanced
- The business operating environment for entrepreneurship development in Malawi is improved
- Gender-sensitive positive attitudes towards entrepreneurship are enhanced
