The Agricultural Mechanisation Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) is hosting a week-long Training of Trainers (ToT) in Agricultural Mechanisation aimed at strengthening the capacity of instructors in the operation and maintenance of farm machinery and implements.
The training will take place from 26-30 May 2025 at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) farm, Bunda Campus. The programme combines both theoretical and practical components and will be attended by 20 instructors from the CoVE.
This first phase of the ToT is designed to address skills gaps in agricultural mechanisation by equipping instructors—who serve as lecturers at their respective institutions—with the knowledge and certification required for effective training delivery in this field.
Participants include instructors from Lilongwe Technical College and six partner institutions: Namitete, Kapondo, Livingstonia, Phwezi, Comboni, and Nasawa Technical Colleges.
The anticipated outcome is that the trained instructors will become proficient in the operation and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment and will also be able to transfer these skills to students, thereby contributing to Malawi’s agricultural mechanisation and commercialisation.
