World Day for Safety and Health at Work

We are pleased to announce that the EU-funded Zantchito Skills for Jobs Programme together with the Ministry of Labour will this year hold the World Day for Safety and Health at Work Commemoration on the 7th of May 2024 in Lilongwe, under the theme “The Impacts of Climate Change On Occupational Safety and Health.  The event will start with a parade around the City Centre to BICC where the commemoration will take place.

Companies, Organisations, Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies , Employer and Employee representative bodies are cordially invited to attend the commemoration.

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is traditionally celebrated worldwide every year on 28 April to promote the prevention of occupational accidents, injuries, and diseases. It is a campaign to raise awareness and bring national and international attention and focus on the problems of work-related accidents, injuries, deaths and diseases
