The targeted labour laws for review are the Employment Act of 2000, Employment (prohibition of hazardous work for children order of 2012), and the Labour relations Act of 1996. The consultative workshops will target employers, employees, employers and employees organisations or unions, SMEs, the informal sector, Government ministries, departments and agents, and other interested stakeholders.
The Malawi labour laws review is aimed at strengthening the labour laws to ensure their effectiveness in promoting the decent work and sustainable development agendas of the country.
